Dracanea

DRAGON’S BLOOD

Like the Peace Lily, Dracaenas are often given as sympathy gifts, representing support, rebirth, healing and resilience.

This symbolism comes from their characteristics, growth pattern, ease of care, and medicinal properties.

Dracaenas start off as a small, compact plant; as they age, however, their middle stalk elongates, producing tree-like growth. In this mature state, some dracaena varieties resemble a palm tree. Indoors, some can reach up to 10 feet tall.

Often referred to as Dragon’s Blood, dracaena produce a red sap or resin, used for thousands of years in traditional medicine.
